Master Fundamental and Advanced Welding Techniques
In the inaugural year of your welding diploma (2 years), you'll dive into hands-on training encompassing shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW). Year two is dedicated to refining your skills with advanced techniques, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead welding. This comprehensive program equips you for applications in both structural and pipe/pressure vessel welding.

Launch Your Welding Apprenticeship
Upon graduation, you'll possess the skills and knowledge required to embark on a welding apprenticeship. Opportunities abound, whether you choose to apprentice as a welder, boilermaker, pipefitter, steamfitter, millwright, or sheet-metal mechanic. Sheridan's welding program boasts such a strong reputation that employers may recognize you as having met the requirements of a first-year apprentice, potentially allowing you to begin as a second-year apprentice.

Admission Requirements (Program Eligibility)
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:
- One English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or ENG4U)
- IELTS: overall score 6.0 with no individual band below 5.5 or
- PTE: overall score 58 with no individual section below 49 or
- TOEFL iBT: overall score 80 with no individual section below 20 or
- DUOLINGO: overall score of 105 with no individual subscore lower than 85
