Inspire the Next Generation as an Elementary School Teacher
Concordia University of Edmonton’s Bachelor of Education (After Degree) is a two-year, innovative program designed for individuals who already hold a degree and want to pursue a meaningful, in-demand career in elementary education.
This targeted program prepares you to become a certified teacher in Alberta, equipping you with the professional knowledge, skills, and classroom experience needed to succeed.
A Recognized Pathway to Alberta Teacher Certification
The BEd (After Degree) is a recognized elementary generalist program that fulfills all academic requirements for teacher certification in Alberta, and is approved by the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA).
All courses within the program include an assessment of professional pre-service attributes, ensuring you're fully prepared for the demands and responsibilities of modern teaching.
Hands-On Teaching Experience with Field Placement
As part of this program, you will complete a mandatory internship/field placement in an Alberta classroom, giving you essential hands-on experience. This practical component allows you to apply your learning, refine your teaching methods, and build confidence as an educator.
Important for International Students:
