Program Overview
The Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies at Red Deer Polytechnic offers students the flexibility to design a personalized degree pathway across multiple disciplines. This program encourages academic exploration by allowing students to combine courses from arts, humanities, sciences, and creative fields.
Students can integrate diverse subjects such as philosophy, photography, digital storytelling, social sciences, and fine arts to create a broad liberal arts education tailored to individual career goals.
Flexible Learning Pathways
The program allows students to complete all four years at RDP or enter directly into Year Three after completing an eligible two-year diploma such as:
• University Arts Diploma
• Social Work Diploma
• Justice Studies Diploma
Students who have completed other recognized diplomas or degrees may also qualify for advanced standing.
Capstone and Work-Integrated Learning
In the final year, students complete a full-year Capstone project. This project integrates academic research or applied community-based problem solving. Students collaborate with local organizations or businesses to address real-world challenges, preparing them to apply interdisciplinary knowledge to emerging societal issues.
Graduates leave with strong analytical, research, and communication skills suited for careers in public service, education, community development, communications, policy, and graduate studies.
